Plot/Hook: The hook is Kate. She's a good, sympathetic character. I want to know more about her and how she's going to make it in junior high. But, I'm still not sure what the overall conflict is. Prose: Good. No major problems except for the POV shift. With the dialogue, the story moves quickly.
